Public Narrative Infrastructure

Making narrative structure visible, verifiable, and navigable.

Narrative Commons extracts, structures, and presents competing frameworks from a thousand incoherent voices — with transparent sourcing, rigorous attribution, and honest uncertainty.

Investigations

Each analysis is a structured traversal of one or more narrative frameworks. Sources are extracted, claims are attributed, confidence is rated, and predictions are tracked. Click to explore.

How We Work

Every analysis follows the same pipeline. The method is transparent, improvable, and designed to compound over time.

01

Extract

Identify sources. Transcribe primary material (video, audio, text). Build a corpus. Every claim traces back to a specific source, timestamp, and context.

02

Structure

Extract atomic claims. Classify them (descriptive, causal, predictive, normative). Map relationships between claims, figures, and frameworks. Build the graph.

03

Verify

Rate confidence across four dimensions: centrality to the source, extraction confidence, verification state, and prediction resolution. Use Runcible for computational verification where possible.

04

Present

Publish as interactive, navigable pages. Every assertion is attributed. Uncertainty is shown, not hidden. Visualizations make structure legible. The reader can follow every thread to its source.

Provenance first Every claim traces to its source. No orphaned assertions.
Uncertainty is first-class We show what we don't know, not just what we do.
Comparative before authoritative We present frameworks, not verdicts.
Prediction accountability Claims with timeframes get tracked. Frameworks are judged by their track record.
Centrality is not truth How central a claim is to a framework says nothing about whether it's correct.
Stable primitives Source, Claim, Prediction, Evidence, Analysis. The ontology is simple and durable.

What This Is

Narrative Commons is public infrastructure for understanding the narratives that shape civilization. In a world saturated with competing frameworks — geopolitical, religious, conspiratorial, mainstream, dissident — most people lack the tools to systematically evaluate any of them.

We provide that mechanism. Not by telling you which narrative is correct, but by making their structure visible: what they claim, what they predict, where they overlap, and where they contradict. We extract claims from primary sources, rate our confidence in each extraction, and present them in formats that let you follow every thread to its origin.

The method is constitutional: governed by explicit rules about what can be published, how confidence is assessed, and what rights sources and subjects retain. The tooling is improving — each analysis makes the next one faster and more rigorous. This is version one. It will get better.
